URHO is a performative project that feeds on the sound and images recorded by the audiovisual artist Iván Torres Hdez aboard the icebreaker of the same name, flagship of the Finnish fleet. The rich and complex result of the field recordings is the basis of the soundscape performed live by musician and sound artist Xoán-Xil López and Iván Torres himself using synthesisers and radio systems to which instruments built by Xoán-Xil are added. The piece has a character of improvisation and dialogue between the artists that react to visuals where documentary-style images are mixed with celluloid animation.
